Professor Cuthbert Calculus is a prominent character in The Adventures of Tintin comic book series, created by Belgian cartoonist Hergé. While not appearing in every story, he is a recurring figure known for his absent-mindedness, brilliance, and inventions.

Calculus is a physicist, inventor, and professor who often creates complex and sometimes impractical devices. His inventions range from pocket submarines to ultrasonic weapons, though they frequently malfunction or have unintended consequences. His contributions often inadvertently save Tintin and his companions.

A notable characteristic is his severe deafness, which he staunchly denies, leading to comedic misunderstandings and misinterpretations of conversations.
